Sierra Leone midfielder Davies makes St. Pölten debut in Salzburg defeat

Sierra Leone midfielder George Davies made his debut for St. Pölten in the second half of their 5-1 defeat at RB Salzburg on Sunday in the Austrian Football Bundesliga.

The 20-year-old, who was granted his work permit last week played for 35th minutes after head coach Jochen Fallmann, introduced the attacking midfielder in the 58th minutes.

Davies was impressive after his introduction but was unable to save his team from the thrashing.

He signed on a free transfer from German second league side; SpVgg Greuther Fürth on a three-year deal last month.

St. Pölten are still looking for their first win of the season, they’re bottom of the table after four defeats and a draw in their opening five league games.
