Quevilly Rouen goalkeeper Solomon Zombo Morris (pictured in action) has been ruled out for a week with a knee injury he suffered in training on Wednesday.

Morris confirmed his injury after medical assessment, is now set to miss the start of the French Championnat National League season.

The news is a bitter blow for the Le Petit-Quevilly based club founded in 1902.

He also reiterated that he will miss tomorrow’s opening league encounter after he collides with a teammate in their final preseason training.

Morris said: “Unfortunately, I injured both knees after going for a loose ball against my teammate in Wednesday’s training, nothing too serious but after assessment team’s doctor Bernard Cauchois wanted me to have a week to rest,” Morris told footballsierraleone.net

They will open their 2016 – 2017 French Championnat National League campaign at home against FC Chambly on Friday 5, August 2016

The Sierra Leone international, who won his 16 caps in the 1-0 victory at home against Sudan, is more concern to be fit to face Ivory Coast in September.

He added: “I’m more concern about the Ivory Coast game, it’s one those games any player doesn’t want to miss. We can make history by beating Ivory Coast and I hope to be fine.”

Morris first international call-up was in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualification match against Tunisia.
