A goal in the 89th minute from Sierra Leone-born Mohamed Buya Turay (Pictured with team-mates) aided AFC United to a precious 3-0 victory over Örgrytel on Monday in the Swedish Superettan title race.

The goal was his ninth in 25 appearances for the club as they close the gap on Sirius to just three points.

AFC United went ahead through a 62′ minute goal from English defender Jernade Meade and Ali Ferid extended their lead in the 66th minutes before Buya Turay made sure of all three points away from home.

United’s next league encounter is on the 16 October away to Ängelholm.

Just yesterday Buya told this medium they are desperately looking towards promotion.

“Promotion has got to be our target,” said Turay. “Everyone at the club is determined.”

“We’ve got to be looking to get promoted and get to the top of the Swedish radar where I think the club belongs.”
