Sierra Leone defender David Simbo was pleased with his first goal in their Turkish Ziraat Cup win over fellow Sierra Leonean (Alfred Sankoh) side Denizlispor on Thursday.

The former Krumkachy Minsk defender, enchanted with his goal, Simbo said scoring the winning goal felt great.

“I’m happy for the team and it feels great – was good for me, we did a great job in defense,” he told footballsierraleone.net after helping his side to the next round of the Turkish FA Cup.

“Regarding my goal, it was very important for me to show the leadership today against a big team. And it was great to score the winner that takes us to the next round.

“I’m happy for the fans, they deserved more – was amazing getting the winner,” he added, “With hard work, we can still improve.”
