CHAN 2018: Senegal to play Mauritania ahead of Sierra Leone contest

A friendly against Mauritania has been included in Senegal’s preparations ahead of this month’s African Nations Championship – CHAN double header against home-based Leone Stars of Sierra Leone.

Moustapha Seck’s home-based Teranga ‘B’ national team will kick-start their preparation in Nouakchott against Mauritania with 18 players already named.

The friendly test is scheduled for Saturday, July 8, 2017, in Nouakchott before heading to Sierra Leone for the first leg preliminary round – West Zone A.

The CHAN – is only designed for home-based African players featuring in their own country’s domestic leagues.

The winner of the double-legged tie will face the winners of the Guinea-Bissau and Guinea clash in the second round with the first leg billed to take place between 11 and 13 August, and those of the return leg the following weekend.

The final is expected to be staged in Kenya from 12 January to 4 February 2018.
