Manchester City have agreed on a deal to sign Nigerian striker Olarenwaju Kayode, Football Sierra Leone understands.

It is believed Kayode, who was the top scorer in Austria’s top flight last season with 17 goals in 33 games, will join from Austria Vienna on a four-year deal.

Kayode had been linked with a move to Newcastle but Rafa Benitez has turned his attentions to Stoke striker Joselu.

He has three caps for Nigeria under his name after making his debut in March.

He represented Nigeria at the 2009 and 2011 Under-17 and Under-20 World Cups respectively.

Kayode, 24, began his career with Red Bull Ghana and signed in February 2010 for ASEC Mimosas
