Kamara’s strike sends Häcken into Swedish Cup quarterfinals

BK Häcken booked their place in this year’s Swedish Cup (Svenska Cupen) quarterfinals with a hard-fought 1-1 draw against GIF Sundsvall to top Group 4 at the Bravida Arena on Saturday.

Thanks to Alhassan Kamara first goal since returning from a long injury lay-off.

Kim Skoglund scored the opener for GIF Sundsvall in the 25th minute to silence the home fans, but a resilient Hacken side fought back with a goal from Kamara to level the scoreline in the 69th minutes.

The Sierra Leone international Kamara finished well and his goal was enough to take Häcken to the quarterfinals with a better goal difference than Sundsvall.

Kamara was also on target against the current champion Östersunds FK when they were eliminated from the Svenska Cupen semi-final in March last year.

Andreas Alm’s men will have to wait to know their opponent in the quarterfinal in the next few days.
