SKN St. Pölten attacking midfielder George Davies has returned to first team training after a three-month knee injury absence.

The 22-year-old has not played since returning from FC Riga loan spell in January, where he made over 20 appearances including Europa League qualifying matches in his nine months spell in Latvia.

“I was injured since Jan, a few weeks ago I just start training,” Davies confirmed his return to FSL.

The club further confirmed Davies is not fully fit to play in any of their remaining matches this season.

“He is training with the first team but currently not match fit. We don’t know if he can play a match this season.”

Davies was the first from Sierra Leone to win two trophies in Latvia the same season and in history.

He was a pivotal figure helping the Latvian side winning the Latvian top flight title and Latvian Cup.

They were defeated at home by FK Austria Wien 2-1 on Sunday in the Championship round.

He joined Austrian Football Bundesliga side, Pölten on a free transfer in July 2017 from German second league side; SpVgg Greuther Fürth on a three-year deal until 2020.
