- Reggio Audace to face Bari in the Italian Serie C playoff final on Wednesday.
- Augustus Kargbo scored a vital goal in the semis against Novara at their Mapei Stadium – Città del Tricolore.
- The attacker on-loan from FC Crotone has been a revelation with Audace.
- His loan spell expires in August 2020
The 20-year-old has scored nine times in the Serie C campaign this season from 23 appearances with Reggio Audace helping the side to the playoff finals.
“As a team, we want to win, and I am looking up to the biggest game of my career,” Kargbo told Football Sierra Leone hours before kickoff.
“It’s the most important game of my career. The pressure is huge. However, we are professionals and must be calm and ready to digest the experience.”
Kargbo is fully aware their opponent is going to be a gigantic task. Bari have spent many seasons bouncing between the top two divisions in Italian football, Serie A and Serie B. The club was formerly known as A.S. Bari or F.C. Bari 1908 as well as other names, due to re-foundations.
“Bari is a team side with top quality players, who are capable of making the difference, but we are more focus on ourselves.”
With a chance to play in the second-highest league in Italy, both teams will be pragmatic in their approach this is according to Italian football expert Enzo Lorenzo.
Bari’s manager Vivarini speaking ahead of the final said, “We need everything we have, courage, strength and exuberance to defeat a tough side like Reggio Audace.”
The match will be played behind closed doors at Mapei Stadium, just like both semi-finals.
