Exciting CAF Champions League group stage draw

  • The 2021 Total CAF Champions League Group Stage is set to be exciting after the draw was completed at CAF Headquarters in Cairo, Egypt on Friday 8 January 2021.

The draw was conducted by CAF Head of competitions Khaled Nassar, assisted by Egypt’s legend Hossam Ghaly.

The group stage produced some exciting pairings as last season’s titleholders, Ahly of Egypt will face the opposition of AS Vita, Simba and El Merrick.

The round-robin phase scheduled to kick-off on February 12-13, with Chiefs starting with a trip to Wydad and Sundowns hosting Al Hilal, and will then conclude by April 9-10.

The full draw is as follows!

Group A

Ahly (Egypt), Al-Merrikh SC (Sudan), Simba (Tanzania), AS Vita Club (DR Congo)

Group B

TP Mazembe (DR Congo), CR Belouizdad (Algeria), Al Hilal (Sudan), Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa)

Group C

Wydad (Morocco), Kaizer Chiefs (South Africa), Petro Atletico (Angola), Horoya (Guinea)

Group D

Esperance (Tunisia), Zamalek (Egypt), MC Alger (Algeria), Teungueth (Senegal)
