Holders advance to CHAN quarter-finals after comeback win

  • Total African Nations Championship (CHAN) holders Morocco defeat Uganda 5-2 in Douala to advanced to the quarter-finals of this year’s competition on Tuesday.
  • A resilient second-half display by the Atlas Lions secured their emphatic victory at the Stade de la Réunification to secure top spot in Group C.

Soufiane Rahimi bagged a brace. As a result, Jonathan Mckinstry’s Cranes are out of the competition as they finish bottom of the group after defeat to Togo and Morocco.

Morocco top of the group with seven points and keep alive their hopes of retaining the title they won on home soil of the competition designed exclusively for home-based players.

Meanwhile, Rwanda secured a 3-2 triumph over Togo to reached the quarterfinals on Tuesday night.
