Egypt, Ivory Coast crash out of U23 men’s Olympic football

  • Defending Champions Brazil beat Egypt 1-0 in their quarter-final match on Saturday to set up a date with Mexico while Spain’s remarkable 5-2 win over Ivory Coast see than battle hosts Japan in the men’s U23 Olympics semi-finals.
Matheus Cunha recorded the only goal for Brazil in the 37th-minute assisted by Everton’s Richarlison as they reached the semi-finals.
 
Ivory Coast was unable to contain Spain in the day’s other quarter-finals.

At the International Yokohama Stadium, possibly the best match of all the Olympic Games. A hard-fought game by both teams and a real goal-fest with a total of 9 goals as Mexico beat South Korea 6-3 aggregate to reach the semi-finals.
