Southern United have confirmed the loan signing of Queens Park Rangers U23 striker Hamzad Kargbo.
The National League side says the 19-year old, who has been on trial with Blues in pre-season, will now remain at the club until the end of September.
“I spoke to Les Ferdinand, and Ricky [Duncan] spoke to Chris Ramsey, and both of them were interested in the project in the same way that we were,” Manager Phil Brown on his new acquisition.
The Sierra Leone native is eager to impress and get this opportunity with Blues.
Kargbo, who is yet to make his first-team debut for Rangers, will be hoping the switch to Southend improve his development.
The youngster is a youth product of West London since joining the Mass Elite Academy back in 2014.
He has featured in the FA Youth Cup for QPR’s U18s side where he scored in a 3-1 extra-time loss to Mansfield Town’s youngsters.
