The Syli National World Cup qualification match against Morocco billed for Monday may not go on as planned following news of heavy gunfire reported in the heart of capital Conakry.

An alleged coup against their 83-year-old president Alpha Condé is making the rounds.

Morocco arrived on Friday completed their first training on Saturday. They were expected to train at the match venue Stade Général Lansana Conté de Nongo today ahead of tomorrow’s game.

Guinea opened their Group I Qatar 2022 campaign against neighbours Guinea Bissau with a 1-1 draw in Nouakchott, paving the way for Morocco to top the group after defeating Sudan 2-0 in Rabat.

They were due to host Morocco at the Stade Général Lansana Conté de Nongo on Monday. However, the latest news of unrest has raised doubt of the contest going ahead as planned.
