Bo Rangers maintain lead as Edwards pick up away win

League leaders Bo Rangers strengthened their grip at the top of the table with a 2-0 triumph over East End Tigers at the Bo Stadium in the Southern Province with goals from Musa Noah Tombo Kamara and Saidu Bah Kamara in the 45th and 74th-minute respectively. (Photo SL Police FC)

Musa Tambo Kamara is the league top scorer with six goals helping new coach Jose Solomon Cortes secured his first three points of the ongoing campaign.

At the Port Loko mini playing field, Old Edwardians new boss Abdulai Kaloga Bah guided his side to a vital away victory after the home side had taken the lead through Abubakarr Sankoh.

Coach Bah, who was confident ahead of the contest, says he was pleased after the game.

“As always, it is good to start well, and I was pleased with the result,” Bah to FSL News. Emmanuel Ansumana and Abdulai Agger Koroma were the scorers for the May Park Boys.

Freetown City played to a barren draw with SLIFA Mount Aureol FC, who are bottom on the present league standings. Abdul Yillah Slifa’s keeper was named Man of the Match at the Attouga Mini Stadium.

In the day’s final match, Abdul Razak Conteh accounted for the only goal as East End Lions overcome Sierra Leone Police FC at the Freetown Siaka Steven Stadium.

The reigning defender champions move to second after their 1-0 win over their host.

The season continued on Sunday with other exciting matches as Kamboi Eagles travel to Diamond rich Town Eastern Province of Sierra Leone to face Diamond Stars.

Sierra Leone most decorated club Mighty Black with a new chairman will take on Central Parade on Sunday.
