Northampton Town attacker Idris Kanu has been ruled for six weeks due to a fractured jaw. Kanu, 22, sustained the injury against Walsall earlier this month.
The attacker has confirmed that he underwent surgery on the 11 of February and was successful but will miss vital matches in their chase for promotion.
Kanu has added to the Cobblers injury list of players. They will travel to face Scunthorpe United on Tuesday.
However, manager Jon Brady is hoping his side can reach the levels they showed during the win over Colchester United on Saturday.
“Saturday was a really pleasing result against a side in Colchester who are on a resurgence and for us to play the way we did against an experienced team was really good,” he told the club’s website.
“We scored some good goals and we showed in our play everything we have been asking for.”
Kanu joined the club on loan from Peterborough last month.
