After a successful World Cup campaign, Morocco has moved from the 22nd position to become the 11th-best football team in the world, according to the latest FIFA ranking.

Morocco ranked 11 after their FIFA World Cup triumph to become the first African country to reach a World Cup semi-final.

They leapfrogged Senegal to become the top-notch African side in the latest and last FIFA Ranking for 2022.

It’s the third-highest ranking for an African team. In 1994, Nigeria ranked 5th, the highest position ever for an African nation. In July 2010, Egypt ranked 9th.

The ranking recognizes Morocco’s uplifting and brilliant performances during the 2022 World Cup, where the Atlas Lions triumphed to secure the fourth spot.

The Atlas Lions made history after qualifying for the semi-finals. The qualification made Morocco the first African and Arab country to make it so far in World Cup history.

Morocco’s performance made international headlines, impressing the media and FIFA.
