Sierra Leone Players Abroad – MLS legend Kei Kamara told this medium that ‘it has been a blessing to have played for so many clubs in the US after he clocked up his 400th Major League Soccer appearance with Chicago Fire in a 3-0 defeat to Nashville SC at GEODIS Park in Nashville, Tennessee on Saturday night.
Kamara, 38, has been in fine form since joining Chicago Fire and recorded a fourth goal of the season, placing him just two goals shy of Landon Donovan’s 145 career MLS all-time scoring record.
On Saturday, he scored his 143rd MLS regular season goal in the 34th minute in the 1-1 draw against New York RB.
Speaking to Football Sierra Leone after his milestone accomplishment, he confided, “It is a great achievement, and I have to give myself a lot of credit for the consistency over the years.”
“I am blessed to have played for this many clubs and scored this many goals, but to play in Major League Soccer for this long. It is truly a blessing. Now, I am focusing on what the future holds. And I am looking forward to making more history on the field.”
A new milestone for @keikamara and still scoring goals aged 38 @MLS top flight.
