In the 43rd minute, Spezia scored the first goal. After that, they scored a second goal and were ahead 2-0 at halftime. Salernitana scored a goal early in the second half through Yayah Kallon, making it 2-1.

Spezia then scored another goal, making it 3-1. The home team scored twice, equalizing the game at 3-3. The match went to a penalty shootout, which Salernitana won 5-4.
