El Abdellaoui strike helps Morocco set U20 final date with South Africa

El Abdellaoui strike helps Morocco set U20 final date with South Africa

Morocco has reached the final of the TotalEnergies CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations after beating Egypt 1-0 on Thursday. They will face South Africa, who won their semi-final against Nigeria 1-0 earlier that day.

The only goal of the match came from substitute Jones El Abdellaoui in the 77th minute. He scored after receiving a well-placed cross from Ismaël Aouad.

The match was intense and physical, with both teams competing fiercely. Egypt started well but struggled to create clear chances. Morocco improved as the game went on, generating more opportunities.

In the second half, Morocco controlled possession, with Reda Laalaoui, Fouad Zahouani, and Hossam Essadak testing Egypt’s defence with long shots and good passing.

The goal came after a period of pressure from Morocco. Despite late efforts from Egypt’s Ahmed Kabaka and Mohamed Raafat, they could not break through Morocco’s strong defense.

Morocco will now face South Africa in the final on Sunday. Egypt will play Nigeria in the match for third place.
