The new format will see each of the eighteen teams play seventeen games, as was unanimously agreed by the Premier League Board (PLB) in consultation with the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA).

The Sierra Leone Premier League is organised by the National Premier Board and comprises eighteen teams that are competing for the title over 34 matches with the winner representing the country in the CAF Champions League and runners-up in the CAF Confederation Cup.
